New Honda CR-V promises to be the safest and most dynamic ever

Participating in a race in which more and more athletes are candidates for victory, the new Honda CR-V arrives with the intention of, at least, being part of the forefront in the European markets.

Designed specifically to meet the standards of the Old Continent, the next Honda CR-V claims, from the outset, the firmest and most sophisticated chassis in its history. Plus important advances in terms of safety and driving sensations.

At the base of these claims is a new type of body construction, using ultra-light and high-resistance materials.

Fun to drive… and comfortable

At the same time, Honda says it has also adapted the new CR-V in order to meet the demands of the European markets, making it not only a fun proposition to drive, but also a comfortable one.

Contributing to the “Fun to drive” facet, the optional Real Time AWD all-wheel drive system delivers “more dynamic cornering performance” by sending up to 60 percent of torque to the rear wheels.

The chassis itself features the new Agile Handling Assist (AHA) technology, an electronic stability system that responds “discreetly” to any direction signals, helping to ensure safer, smoother and more predictable handling on the road.

At the front, a McPherson frame also helps ensure greater lateral rigidity, while at the rear, a Multilink suspension, according to the manufacturer, ensures greater stability, comfort and precision.

arrives later this year

The first European Honda CR-V units are scheduled to arrive in the Old Continent this autumn, equipped with a 1.5 VTEC Turbo engine. Which can either be combined with a six-speed manual gearbox or with an optional CVT transmission.

The promised hybrid version, however, should only arrive in 2019.
