Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Hyundai i30, Opel Insignia, SEAT Ibiza, Volkswagen Arteon, Honda Civic and Ford Mustang: these were the last models to be tested by Euro NCAP, an independent organization responsible for evaluating the safety of new models on the European market. And the results were, in general, quite positive.

Let's start with the models that got the highest score – and there were not a few. The new Volkswagen Arteon it achieved high marks in all four categories (adults, children, pedestrians and safety assistance), even becoming the highest-rated executive model ever in pedestrian protection in the Euro NCAP tests.

For its part, the new SUV from Alfa Romeo, the stelvio , stood out in adult protection with an almost perfect score, equaling the result of the Volvo XC90 in 2015.

As part of standard safety equipment, the new generation of SEAT Ibiza includes a pedestrian detection system, which contributed to the achievement of five stars in the Euro NCAP tests.

The faster these new technologies are extended to all vehicles, the sooner we will be able to make car traffic safer.

also the Hyundai i30 it's the Opel Insignia achieved the highest rating with the standard safety package, with a consistent performance in all categories.

already the new Honda Civic it scored four stars on the Euro NCAP tests, largely due to a lower child protection score. Who was also not surprising was the Ford Mustang , by getting only three stars. Still, it should be noted that at the beginning of the year the sports car was in the news, obtaining a score of two stars in these same tests, which led Ford to operate a series of improvements in the safety package – more efficient front airbags, braking system emergency and standard lane change assistance.

It's good to see that after 20 years Euro NCAP continues to catch the attention of responsible companies like Ford. While the three-star rating is not exceptional, these improvements have made the Ford Mustang significantly safer.
