SEAT Ibiza gets its most powerful version. No it's not a CUPRA

Okay… It's not an absolute novelty. A SEAT Ibiza 1.5 TSI with 150 hp , but not for long, having disappeared from the range. So, since then, it's been the 115hp 1.0 TSI to take the title of most powerful in the range.

The 150 hp 1.5 TSI, however, returns to Ibiza and back to Portugal, but with a twist: it is only available with the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. Previously, the in-line four-cylinder turbocharger was associated with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Let's go to numbers. They are 150 hp and 250 Nm of maximum torque, which combined with the efficient DSG, guarantees a start of 8.2s up to 100 km/h and a top speed (respectable) of 219 km/h.

Far from being the right numbers for a hypothetical CUPRA Ibiza — which won't happen —, but at least they guarantee an interesting level of performance. They will certainly better exploit the capabilities of the very competent chassis that the SEAT Ibiza has.

Furthermore, it promises very reasonable consumption: between 5.6-6.4 l/100 km, with CO2 emissions between 128-147 g/km.
