Since its rebirth in the century. XXI, that the Mini family has not stopped multiplying. In total, there are already eight models derived from the “original” Mini concept. And the latest has just arrived – Welcome to Mini Paceman 2013!
We closely follow the evolution of the latest member of the Mini family, the Paceman, as you can see here and here. Now is the time to see the first official photos of the brand new Mini, released this morning by BMW, the subsidiary of the British brand.
Using a Coupé silhouette, but with jeep touches – which at times reminds the profile of the Range Rover Evoque – the Paceman looks like a conventional Mini with “rolled up pants” – forgive me for the lack of a better comparison. Basically, imagine something with an apparently snob Brit, educated in the city, who in a moment of madness decides to roll up his aristocratic “crease in half” pants and jump on foot together into the mud. Nothing too extreme, nothing too extreme. Indeed “british”! But deep down with the soul of a rebel. We can even say that Paceman is to the Mini family what Prince Harry is to the British Royal Family.
The Mini even decorates the Paceman with a very noble title… The brand says that this is “the first Sports Activity Coupé in the premium compact segment”. Wow! Real blood or not, the truth is that the concept works very well from an aesthetic point of view - much better than in Countryman, the five-door version of Paceman.
It remains to be said that the Paceman will be available with all known engines from the Mini range, except for the John Cooper Works version, only available in 2014. Also available in the range will be the “All4” total traction system.
Scheduled for release in 2013, the official presentation of Paceman will be at the Paris Motor Show later this month. Until then stay with this photo gallery:
