Desired for many years, the Integra is about to make a comeback, this time just as an Acura. That's right, Honda's premium brand took advantage of the Monterey Car Week to confirm the return of the Acura Integra to its model portfolio.

For now, in addition to the official confirmation, all we were entitled to was a teaser in which we can see the new Integra's headlights, its LED daytime running lights and part of the grille. However, the highlight is the name of the model that appears, curiously, coined under the left headlight.

Manifestly different from the headlamps used in Honda models we know, the headlamp on the new Acura Integra is similar to what we find in another model of the brand that operates, above all, in North America: the Acura TLX Type S.

keep the tradition

Although information about the new Acura Integra is virtually nil, Jon Ikeda, vice president and brand manager at Acura, has promised that the new Integra will return to the range “with the fun spirit and DNA of the original, fulfilling Acura's commitment to precision performance in every way — design, performance and the driving experience”.

Scheduled to arrive in 2022, it is only at that time that Acura should reveal more details about the new Integra. For now, the Japanese brand is limited to advancing that it will be a premium compact, not even revealing the shape of its bodywork: whether it will be a coupé as it became world famous, or whether it will adopt a four-door bodywork, as there was also in the past:

Already out of the plans seems to be the arrival of a version with the Honda logo and, therefore, aimed at the European market.
