Hyundai Santa Fe: the first contact

Anonim

The new Hyundai Santa Fé is one of the most important models for the Korean brand, or was it not one of the brand's most recognized and cherished models by European consumers. In this new generation, the Santa Fé stands out for its renewed image, active safety technologies and several improvements in terms of comfort and refinement on board.

On the domestic market, it only comes equipped with the willful 2.2 CRDI engine with 200 hp and 440 Nm of maximum torque, associated with a six-speed manual gearbox. On the road, the 200 hp of the 2.2 CRDI engine arrives and remains for orders, providing safe overtaking and vigorous acceleration. Optionally, the new Hyundai Santa Fe will have a six-speed automatic transmission. The consumptions announced are 5.7 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 149 g/km.

The design is marked by the robust appearance of the new bumpers, fog lights, LED daytime running lights and chrome hexagonal grille – transversal to all Hyundai models.

Inside, the Hyundai Santa Fé presents itself with more care than ever. The materials are mostly of good quality and the assembly has no flaws worthy of the name – those responsible want to bring Hyundai closer to the references of the premium segment. Another highlight is the brand's AVN 2.0 navigation and entertainment system, which combines digital radio with DAB and Infinity Premium sound, providing a quality sound experience.

At the wheel, the overall feeling is solid and the suspension copes well with the dimensions of the set, clearly favoring on-board comfort. Space in the second row is plentiful, allowing three adults to socialize without any lack of space for long kilometres. As for the occupants of the third row with more than 1.70m tall, we do not recommend long trips, the space is cramped and access is somewhat difficult.

In terms of safety, in the most equipped versions, the Hyundai comes with an extensive list of equipment, from which we highlight the autonomous emergency braking systems (allows to minimize or avoid collisions through the radar and camera sensors), the assistant at the exit of the lane, the dead angle camera (BSD), the traffic alert at the rear of the vehicle (reduces the risk of collision during reversing thanks to a 180-degree radar), active cruise control and automatic ignition maximums.

In addition to the usual 5 year unlimited km warranty, 5 years Roadside Assistance and 5 years annual check ups, Hyundai also offers 5 years of scheduled maintenance (five years or 100,000 km). The new Santa Fé will also be taxed with Class 1 at tolls, as long as it is associated with the Via Verde system. A set of arguments that the brand hopes will make the new Santa Fé a success story in Portugal.
