Container full of parts for classic Ferrari, Maserati and Abarth parts discovered

Anonim

After the discoveries in barns (barn find), it seems that there is another vein to explore: containers (container find). This, considering the contents of the container that the British auctioneer Coys came across in the south of England.

Inside this ordinary container they found numerous parts for classic Italian cars, mostly for Ferrari, but also for Maserati and Abarth.

Not only are all the pieces genuine, but many of them are still in their original packaging, whether in wood and cardboard, with some dating back to the 60s.

It's an Aladdin's cave that will excite people all over the world. There are spoked wheels in their original wooden cases, carburetors wrapped in their original papers, exhaust pipes, radiators, instrument panels, the list goes on and on.

These are the words of Chris Routledge, manager of Coys, who cannot hide his excitement and enthusiasm. He estimates the parts value of this container to be more than 1.1 million euros , something we may see confirmed at the auction to be held at Blenheim Palace, on June 29th.

Parts have already been cataloged for several Ferrari models, some of them rare and very, very expensive: 250 GTO — the most expensive classic ever —, 250 SWB, 275, Daytona Competizione, F40 and 512LM. The find also includes small parts for the Maserati 250F — a machine that successfully competed in Formula 1 in the 1950s.

But, where did all these pieces come from and why are they in a container? At the moment, the only information made public is that it is a private collection, the owner of which has passed away a few years ago.
