Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé: the missing crossover

Anonim

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé was unveiled at the New York Motor Show – these are the new features of the German compact crossover.

The production version of the concept unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show arrived in New York with a less dramatic stylistic language, but which still maintains the high waistline and the traditional coupé forms of Mercedes-Benz. Based on the GLC, the younger brother of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé features a new front grille, air intakes and chrome accents. With this more dynamic and bold proposal, Mercedes thus completes the GLC range, a model that will rival the BMW X4.

Inside, Mercedes tried not to give up the high levels of habitability. Despite this, the smaller dimensions of the cabin and a slight decrease in the luggage capacity (less 59 liters) stand out.

In terms of engines, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé will hit the European market with eight different options. Initially, the brand offers two four-cylinder diesel blocks – GLC 220d with 170hp and GLC 250d 4MATIC with 204hp – and a four-cylinder gasoline engine, the GLC 250 4MATIC with 211hp.

In addition, a hybrid engine – GLC 350e 4MATIC Coupé – with a combined power of 320hp, a bi-turbo V6 block with 367hp and a bi-turbo V8 engine with 510hp will also be available. With the exception of the hybrid engine, which will be equipped with a 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox, all versions benefit from the 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox with nine speeds and sports suspension that includes the “Dynamic Select” system, with five driving modes.
