Mercedes SLK 250 CDI: Prices are already known

If you're interested in a convertible, but don't want to do without the economy of diesel engines, Mercedes has listened to your prices.

Now you can order a Mercedes SLK equipped with a Diesel engine, for now, only available on the domestic market equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission (7G-Tronic Plus). The downside of the medal is that to have a copy of these in your garage you will have to pay the modest sum of 53,250 euros.

But if the psychological (or economic…) barrier of 50 thousand euros is insurmountable for you, rejoice because the arrival of the variant equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox at a relatively lower price, 49,950 is scheduled for the second quarter of 2012 euros. But be warned, don't look at the list of options!

Speaking of the driving capabilities of the most spared SLK ever, they count on the services of the willful four-cylinder engine of 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque already known to the Class E and C models. According to the German brand, the combined consumption is limited by 4.9l/100 km and CO2 emissions by 128 g/km, a marvel for the pockets of well-heeled “weeds”.

With a top speed of 243 km/h and just 6.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, the new 250 CDi didn't come to make the ugly duckling figure of the SLK family. Purists will certainly not appreciate the presence of a diesel engine in a convertible, but the truth is that tradition is no longer what it used to be. But diesel engines don't either…
