Gross. Aston Martin Victor house V12 NA 848 hp with manual gearbox

Anonim

“GRUDE. BOLD. SINGLE". This is how Q by Aston Martin starts its announcement about its most recent and only commissioned creation: the Aston Martin Victor . And for once we have to completely agree with the adjectives used.

GROSS

No doubt. The Aston Martin Victor started out as a very special One-77 — a front-engine supercar — and that means that underneath its long hood lies a Naturally aspirated V12 with 7.3 l capacity.

But the expansive block was not unscathed, having been rebuilt and given a new “tune-up” by Cosworth's master hands. The results are… gross! If the One-77 was already able to pull 760 hp and 750 Nm from the V12, the Victor raises the bar to the 848 hp of maximum power and 821 Nm of maximum torque.

To transfer all this to the rear axle, the choice fell on a box… manual(!), courtesy of Graziano and has six relations. It is understandable that they have had to resort to a clutch straight from the world of competition to deal with this mechanical monster.

Given the numbers involved, the Victor becomes the most powerful Aston Martin with manual transmission ever made!

Power will be under control as the Aston Martin Victor uses the same inboard suspension scheme as the Vulcan — exclusive to circuits and also related to the One-77 —, Brembo's CMM-R carbide-ceramic wheels and CMM-R carbo-ceramic brakes. with 380 mm diameter at the front and 360 mm at the rear. Enough to guarantee Victor's braking at the level of a GT3 class racecar.

Suspension

BOLD

Look at it… It doesn't look like a One-77 or a Vulcan, despite sitting on the same carbon fiber monocoque.

His aesthetic was inspired by the Aston Martin V8 Vantagem from the 70s-80s, but above all by the Aston Martin RHAM/1, a highly modified 70s DBS V8 to enter the 24 Hours of Le Mans (where he participated in 1977 and 1979 ).

The muscular shapes of the bodywork, however, do not mean neglecting aerodynamic refinement: the Aston Martin Victor generates more downforce than the competition Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

The intersection of the style closest to the Aston Martin muscle cars of this period, with the elongated and elegant bodywork of their coupés of this century, results in a somewhat bizarre creature with unique aesthetic characteristics. It is nonetheless less fascinating for that.

The interior leaves the carbon fiber frame exposed, but there are new leather upholstery and the roof is covered in cashmere.

Among elements in blasted aluminum, machined and polished titanium, we find in the dashboard walnut wood carved from a solid block, the same material found in the “ball” that tops the knob of the manual gearbox.

SINGLE

There will only be one Aston Martin Victor, having been commissioned by a Q by Aston Martin customer who wishes to remain anonymous. As well as the cost of this project remains… anonymous.

Despite the brutal specifications, the Victor is approved to ride on public roads.
