Fiat Panda renewed to celebrate 40 years of life

With three generations and 40 years in the market, the Fiat Panda is already an icon of the Turin brand. To ensure that one of the “last of the Mohicans” in the urban segment remains current, Fiat has renewed it… again.

Aesthetically, the novelties are limited to new bumpers, new wheels and new side skirts. Inside, in addition to using recycled materials in the seats and dashboard, the big news is the new infotainment system.

With a 7” screen and compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems, this infotainment system marks a milestone in Panda's history, as it is the first time it has been equipped with a touch screen.

The new 7'' screen is the big news inside the renovated Fiat Panda.

Versions for all tastes

In addition to the new infotainment system, Fiat Panda also saw its range reorganized, having gained a new version.

In total, the Fiat Panda range is divided into three variants: Life (the most urban); Cross (the most adventurous); and now the new Sport (the sportiest).

But the three variants are further divided into specific equipment levels. The Life variant has “Panda” and “City Life” levels; the Cross variant is available at “City Cross” and “Cross” levels; while Sport has only the equipment level… “Sport”.

The Fiat Panda Sport

As for the Sport version, one of the novelties of this renovation, it is the latest addition to Fiat's “Sport family”, which already has the 500X, 500L and Tipo.

Compared to the other versions, this one is distinguished by the 16″ bicolor wheels, the body color mirror handles and mounts (or in glossy black to match the optional black roof), the "Sport" chrome logo on the side and the exclusive body color Matt Grey.

Panda Sport takes on a sportier posture, reminiscent of the Panda 100HP.

Inside, in addition to the 7” screen being offered as standard, the Fiat Panda Sport has a titanium-colored dashboard, specific door panels, new seats and various details in eco-leather.

Finally, for customers who want their Panda Sport to stand out even more, Fiat offers as an option the “Pack Pandemonio”, a tribute to the kit launched in 2006 on the Panda 100HP. This includes red brake calipers, tinted windows and an eco-leather steering wheel with red stitching.

Mild-hybrid for everyone

Available since February in the Panda Hybrid Launch Edition, mild-hybrid technology is now available across the entire Fiat Panda range. It combines a 1.0 l, 3-cylinder, 70 hp engine with a BSG (Belt-integrated Starter Generator) electric motor that recovers energy in the braking and deceleration phases.

It then stores it in a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 11 Ah and uses it, with a peak power of 3.6 kW, to start the engine when in Stop&Start mode and to assist acceleration. The transmission is now in charge of a new six-speed gearbox.

Scheduled for arrival on the Portuguese market in November, it is not yet known how much the revised Fiat Panda will cost here, nor if it will have another engine besides the mild-hybrid.
