THE Volkswagen up! GTI it is the sportier version of the small town, and automatically memories of the predecessor Lupo GTI, launched almost 20 years ago, arise, so expectations are high.
The automotive panorama is quite different from the one that saw the birth of the Lupo GTI, so the up! GTI offers its performance in a distinct way, that is, the engine is a small turbo tricylinder with just 1.0 l of capacity, providing 115 hp and 200 Nm of torque, capable of launching 1070 kg (EU) up to 100 km/ h in just 8.8s and reach 196 km/h.
More than impressive performances, obtained through a manual six-speed gearbox, but capable of guaranteeing moderate consumption values, just 5.6 l/100 km (WLTP) and CO2 emissions of 128 g/km.

Ground contact points are guaranteed by wheels with 17″ “Brands Hatch” wheels wrapped in tires measuring 195/40, sportier tuning suspension, and reduced ground clearance by 15 mm.
Own style
The latest addition to the GTI family, joining the eternal Golf GTI and the latest Polo GTI, the up! GTI adopts the same aesthetic details, namely a hexagonal-patterned grille, black stripe in the lower section of the doors, mirror covers in glossy black, and some red accents, not forgetting, of course, the presence of the GTI emblem on the front and behind.
Inside, the inspiration for the Golf GTI is obvious, with the presence of “Clark” checkered upholstery on the seats, red accents, and leather steering wheel and case handle. The instruments also take on a sportier character.

Equipment and price
The Volkswagen up! GTI is the top of the range version and the level of equipment demonstrates it, where we highlight: air conditioning; rear parking sensors; six speakers; front side airbags; heated front seats; onboard computer “Plus”; electromechanical assisted steering, controlled according to speed; and fog lights with static cornering lights.
The up! GTI is also available in four colors: white, red, silver gray and metallic black.
The price of the smallest GTI starts at €18,032 (without metallic paint or administrative expenses).
