Four months after being made known at the Geneva Motor Show, production of the renovad Nissan Qashqai has already started at the brand's factory in Sunderland, UK, which will serve the European market.

According to the Japanese brand, the crossover has undergone updates centered on four distinct areas: a more modern exterior design, higher levels of interior quality, improved driving performance and new Nissan intelligent mobility technologies.

Starting in the spring of next year, the Nissan Qashqai will be available with ProPILOT semi-autonomous driving technology – which will also power the new Leaf. This system is capable of taking care of steering, accelerating and braking in a single lane on a highway and in situations of traffic congestion. Check out all the news for the Nissan Qashqai here.

In a year in which it completes 10 years on the market, the Qashqai is the leader in the medium SUV segment in Europe and Portugal, which led Nissan to invest in an investment of 60 million euros in the Sunderland unit – Nissan's largest factory in Europe - as a way to respond to the high volume of sales. Nissan has already announced that the third generation of the Qashqai will also be produced in Sunderland.

In the decade since the launch of the Qashqai, we've built more than 2.8 million units, taking factory throughput to record highs [...] This new model also marks a new chapter for our manufacturing operations.
