As happened recently with the Mazda CX-5, the new Mazda6 retained the platform of the current one, but the bodywork and interior were substantially updated, with new engines and new equipment being added.

From the outset, the new style stands out. The Japanese brand revealed images that show the slight external differences compared to the previous generation, but that contribute to a more sophisticated, mature and solid aesthetic.

The new front gives it greater three-dimensionality in the lines with a more muscular look. The grille accentuates a deeper look and reinforces the model's low center of gravity. A new LED light signature is also present.

On the side the lines remain but more pronounced with a raised rear section. Both 17″ and 19″ alloy wheels remain available.

Inside, completely redesigned, there is a taller and more pronounced center console with a “cleaner” appearance. There is also a horizontal instrument panel that accentuates the model's width.

The seats were redesigned to provide greater support and were given a ventilation function. They are now wider and with new materials that give them greater density and more capacity to absorb vibrations.

The panel with the climate controls came down on the console. The number of buttons has been reduced and all of them have been redesigned for a nicer, more sophisticated touch.
Mazda SKYACTIV-G
Absolute novelty is the introduction of the SKYACTIV-G 2.5T, the turbo engine debuted by the CX-9 with 250 hp, but which everything indicates that it will not be available in Portugal.

The SKYACTIV-G engines and the interior are the biggest differences from the new Mazda6, however the chassis was reinforced and suspension adjustments were made and the steering improved, now lighter.

In addition to this, Mazda shows in Los Angeles the Mazda VISION COUPE concept that debuted at the last Tokyo Motor Show, the RT24-P, a competition prototype, and finally the MX-5 “Halfie”, which consists of a fusion between a car competition and production.
