Porsche Taycan Turbo S vs Autobahn. A long-awaited takedown

Anonim

After having seen the Porsche Taycan Turbo S walk sideways in the hands of Chris Harris, now a video has appeared that proves that the maximum speed of the first electric Porsche was perhaps… underestimated.

As you would expect, with the Porsche Taycan Turbo S of a German car, the famous autobahn are not a “strange territory”.

Now, to see what this is worth on what are probably the most famous roads in Germany, the Youtube channel Automann-TV took you to a section of Autobahn with no speed limit.

"Better than the order"

With two synchronous electric motors that deliver 560 kW (761 hp) of power and 1050 Nm of torque — instantaneous — the Taycan Turbo S promises ballistic performance. In the video, the announced time from 0 to 100 km/h was confirmed in just 2.8s and other accelerations were measured, such as 0-250 km/h, or 100-200 km/h.

The Taycan Turbo S also promises a top speed of 260 km/h. Now, if there's something that the video we're showing you today proves, it's precisely that this maximum speed value is perhaps a little “pessimistic”.

We say this because as you can see in the video, the Taycan Turbo S equipped with batteries with a capacity of 93.4 kWh and a range of 412 km (WLTP) managed to accelerate beyond 260 km/h, reaching 269 km/h — it will be able to just be a speedometer error, or does it even have more "juice" than what it advertises?
