For a long time reserved for the most exclusive models of Mercedes-Benz (although there are exceptions as the Mercedes-Benz MB 100 D AMG proves), the “magic” of AMG has been spreading throughout the range of the German brand in recent years , reaching (almost) all its models.
We say almost all because after having seen the possibility of an AMG version of the X-Class falling to the ground, Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, confirmed in statements given to Motor Trend on the sidelines of the Frankfurt Motor Show that beyond of the Mercedes-Benz commercial models there will be two more that will not have AMG versions.
The first of all is the Mercedes-Benz Class B , which after having already received a plug-in hybrid version thus sees the absence of a sportier version confirmed (who knows if it wouldn't be a kind of Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC for the family?).
Thus, the link of the German MPV to the AMG universe will continue to be limited to the level of AMG Line equipment that offers a more aggressive aesthetic kit, 18” wheels, lowered suspension and also a revised steering wheel.

The second model that will not receive an AMG version is the Mercedes-Benz EQC. Despite having the AMG Line pack, the electric which has two electric motors, one per axle, 408 hp and which meets 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1s will not receive the Mercedes-AMG treatment.
Interestingly, in the statements made by Moers to Motor Trend, there are no reasons why these two models will not join a family of models that extends from the A-Class to the S-Class, passing through the monstrous G-Class and even the newly introduced GLB .
