Just about to hit our market, the plug-in hybrid version of Mercedes-Benz E-Class already have prices. The big differentiating factor of the E-Class plug-in hybrid version in relation to what the competition does is that instead of using a gasoline engine, it uses a diesel engine.

So the new E300de it combines a four-cylinder diesel engine with an electric motor, while the transmission is powered by a nine-speed automatic 9G-TRONIC.

The electric motor used delivers 122 hp (90 kW) and 440 Nm of torque. As for the combustion engine, it offers 194 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque. The combined power of the two engines is 306 hp (225 kW). When the four-cylinder combustion engine and electric motor work together, the transmission electronically limits torque to 700Nm.

50 km autonomy in electric mode

In terms of performance, the new E300de meets 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9s and reaches 250 km/h of top speed. Thanks to a battery capacity of 13.4 kWh, the Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid achieves a range of around 50 km in electric mode, both in the sedan and in the van.

The E300de is even capable of reaching 130 km/h top speed in 100% electric mode. Regarding consumption, the German brand announces a combined consumption of 1.6 l/100km and CO2 emissions of around 44 g/km.
