You can now buy your Formula E car

The first four seasons of the new motoring competition being completed at the wheel of 100% electric single-seaters, the FIA Formula E World Championship now enters a new phase of its still short existence, marked by new regulations… and cars.

With the entry into this new era, behind is another reality, built with those that were the first race cars developed specifically for competition. All of them based on the same chassis developed by Spark Racing Technology, as well as the same batteries, supplied by Williams Advanced Engineering.

But even so, with natural discrepancies between the different cars of each of the teams, the result of evolutions carried out over the four seasons, in accordance with what the regulations allowed.

It is exactly these single-seaters that the Formula E organization is now available for sale, to collectors, or even to competition lovers. Even because "these cars are still able to race", says, in statements to the Bloomberg news agency, Alejandro Agag, founder of the competition.

These cars gave us four seasons of strong, intense emotions, in addition to an always unpredictable competition. I know there is a lot of interest in them, namely from collectors, because they can still be used for racing purposes.

40 single-seaters to choose from

Possibilities of choice, available to potential interested parties, are also not lacking. With ten teams in competition, each with two registered drivers, who, in turn, each needed two cars per race — remember that, in the first four editions of the championship, drivers were forced to change by car in the middle of the race, as the batteries couldn't withstand an entire race — that's at least 40, the number of single-seaters that the teams and organization will be able to sell.

Finally, on the question of the price to pay for any of these single-seaters, the Formula E organization says that it could range from 175 thousand to 255,000 euros. Very acceptable value, if we think that any of these copies cost, when new, something like 400 thousand euros.
