Unveiled in Geneva the Hyundai Kauai Electric, in two versions

After the Ioniq, the sedan that the South Korean brand has chosen to market in three different variants — hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric — Hyundai is now extending the “electric vibration” to the B-segment compact SUV sector, with the presentation, in Geneva, of the Hyundai Kauai Electric.

With no significant changes in design compared to the version equipped with a combustion engine, except for the new grill, redesigned and completely closed — there is no need for refrigeration —, the new Hyundai Kauai Electric is multiplied into two versions: a more powerful one, with better benefits and autonomy, and a more basic, and above all, more accessible.

Power and autonomy make the difference

The more powerful version is based on a 64 kWh battery pack, a 204 hp electric motor and 395 Nm of torque , capable of accelerating up to 100 km/h in just 7.6s. All this, with an announced maximum autonomy of 470 km, already in accordance with the WLTP cycle.

The access version, on the other hand, features a 39 kWh battery pack, capable of guaranteeing a maximum range of 300 km, with the electric motor only offering 135 hp , but the binary, however, is the same as the more powerful version: 395 Nm.
