As we had promised you, it's not because the Geneva Motor Show doesn't take place that you'll miss out on the news that the brands were going to show there, and two of them were, precisely, the Renault Capture and Megane E-Tech that Guilherme presents you in this video.

In total, the Renault Captur and Mégane E-Tech each have three engines — a combustion engine and two electric engines working together.

On the combustion side, a 1.6 liter gasoline engine with 91 hp and 144 Nm. On the electric side, the larger one, has the function of moving the two Renault plug-in hybrids and has 67 hp and 205 Nm. as an energy generator, taking advantage of decelerations and braking, and a starter motor, with 34 hp and 50 Nm.

The end result is a combined power of 160 hp . Powering the two electric motors is a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 9.8 kWh, which allows it to travel up to 50 km in the WLTP cycle and 65 km in the WLTP city cycle.

Described by the Gallic brand as a clutchless multimode gearbox, it uses the technology used by Renault Sport's Formula 1 cars. In total it offers up to 14 speeds, but the best thing is to listen to Guilherme's explanation to understand how it works — if you prefer, in this article about the Clio E-Tech, also a hybrid, but not a plug-in, you have a full explanation of its operation.
