Farewell to the "monster" Diesel with 4 turbos is made with the special edition of the X5 M50d and X7 M50d

Anonim

We had already announced it a few months ago and now it's official. BMW's four-turbo diesel engine will even be overhauled. The X5 M50d and X7 M50d Final Edition are a special edition to mark its… disappearance.

Born in 2016 with the designation B57D30S0 (if this code sounds Chinese to you here you have the “dictionary”), this inline six-cylinder, 3.0 l capacity engine develops 400 hp of power (at 4400 rpm) and 760 Nm of maximum torque (between 2000 and 3000 rpm).

As we told you a few months ago, the reason for the disappearance of this engine is due to two key factors: the high complexity inherent in its production (and the consequent costs) and the new CO2 targets.
