THE new Honda Jazz reveals a strong commitment to active and passive safety. A good example of this is the new front center airbag , a first on the market, bringing to ten the number of airbags on board the new model.
The new generation of Jazz, unveiled at last year's Tokyo Hall, thus demonstrates that it has more highlights beyond the fact that it only features hybrid engines (it will have a version of the same system used by the biggest CR-V).
The new front central airbag promises, according to Honda, to reduce head injuries by 85% for the closest passenger and 98% for the farthest passenger in the event of a collision.
How it works?
Installed in the rear of the driver's seat, if necessary, this front central airbag expands into the space between the driver and passenger.

The purpose of this new airbag is to avoid direct contact between the driver and the passenger in the event of a side collision. To ensure that the airbag is positioned correctly, it uses three lashings that guide it around the driver to protect him.
The new front central airbag also works together with two other features in the event of an accident: the already common seat belt pretensioners (which work to reduce side impact) and the new central armrest, which is found now in a higher position.
