Launched about two years ago, the Toyota Camry has now undergone a makeover that not only brought it a revised look but also a technological upgrade.
Starting with the aesthetic chapter, the main innovations appear at the forefront. There we find a new grille (more consensual than the one used so far) and a redesigned bumper. On the side, the new 17” and 18” wheels stand out, and on the rear the LED headlamps were also revised.
Inside, the big news is the adoption of a new 9” touchscreen that appears above the ventilation columns (until now it was underneath these). According to Toyota, this positioning facilitates its use while driving and ergonomics, which also benefits from the maintenance of the physical controls.
Equipped with new software, the infotainment system not only promises to be faster, it is also standard compatible with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems.
Enhanced security, unchanged mechanics
In addition to the revised look and technological reinforcement, the renewed Toyota Camry also received the latest generation of the Toyota Safety Sense system. It features updated functions from the pre-collision system (which includes detection of oncoming vehicles), with adaptive cruise control that works in conjunction with the traffic sign reader and an improved version of the maintenance assistant in the lane. shooting.

Finally, in the mechanical chapter the Toyota Camry remains unchanged. This means that the Camry is still available in Europe exclusively with a hybrid powertrain.
It combines a 2.5 l gasoline engine (Atkinson cycle) with an electric motor powered by a nickel metal hydride battery, achieving a combined power of 218 hp and a thermal efficiency of 41%, with consumption standing at 5.5 to 5.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions between 125 and 126 g/km.
For now, there is no information about the arrival date of the Toyota Camry on the national market, nor if there will be any changes in the prices requested by the top of the range of the Japanese brand.
