Citroën is committed to electrifying its entire range (from 2020 all models launched by the Double Chevron brand will have an electrified version) and the Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid represents the “kick-off” of that strategy.

Unveiled as a prototype in 2018 and already presented in the production version last year, the C5 Aircross Hybrid, Citroën's first plug-in hybrid, has now arrived on the Portuguese market and is already available for order.

The numbers of the C5 Aircross Hybrid

The plug-in hybrid variant of the C5 Aircross “houses” a 180hp PureTech 1.6 internal combustion engine with an 80kW (110hp) electric motor. The end result is 225 hp of maximum combined power and 320 Nm of torque. Associated with this engine is the eight-speed automatic transmission (ë-EAT8).

Powering the electric motor we find a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13.2 kWh that allows you to travel up to 55 km in 100% electric mode . With regard to consumption and emissions, Citroën announces values ​​of 1.4 l/100 km and 32 g/km, already in accordance with the WLTP cycle.

Finally, as for charging the battery, it takes less than two hours in a 32 A WallBox (with the optional 7.4 kW charger); in four hours on a 14A outlet with the standard 3.7kW charger and in seven hours on an 8A domestic outlet.

How much will it cost?

Now available for order, the first units of the Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid should start shipping in June this year.

Citroën's first plug-in hybrid will be available in two versions: “Feel” and “Shine”. The first is available from €43,797, while the second can be purchased from €45,997.
