The success of the BMW M4 CS already made it possible to foresee a second model along the same lines. That's how the BMW M3 CS arrives. Like its two-door sibling, the M3 CS is faster, lighter and limited… not in speed, but in the number of units available. Only 1200 copies worldwide.

The aim is to create a sports car, but with the luxury and practicality of a four-door saloon.

For the “sports car” part, the new BMW M3 CS has the block 3.0 liters with six in-line cylinders delivering 460 hp of power and approximately 600 Nm of torque. Added to the increase in power and torque compared to the BMW M3 is a weight reduction of almost 50 kg. So the 100 km/h is reached in just 3.7 seconds and the maximum (limited) speed is 280 km/h . Very similar numbers to the BMW M4 CS.

To deal with all this, BMW's M division naturally equipped the M3 CS with some “details” associated with performance, such as the sports exhaust system with four outlets with flaps that act according to the driving mode.

Of course, it is associated with seven-speed M dual-clutch gearbox , which usually equips the M division models, and here with a electronic self-locking differential . Most of the changes are no more than what is included in the Competition Package, available for the M3, making the BMW M3 CS even better.

The light alloy wheels of the BMW M3 CS are inspired by the wheels used in the competition M4 that race in the Touring Championship (DTM), with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in dimensions 265/35 R19 at the front and 285/30 R20 at the rear. The carbon-ceramic braking system remains available as an option.

The CS version of the M3 gets an even more creased and muscular appearance, with the front splitter and rear spoiler in carbon fiber.

However, it is in the interior that the BMW M3 CS stands out the most, and here we even bow to those responsible for BMW's M division. In addition to the CS designation, the Alcantara in gray tones predominates throughout the interior, with applications on the steering wheel – with stitching in the colors of the M division, blue and red -, console, handbrake bellows, among others, the “Start” button ” is red and the sport drumsticks are also those of the Competition Package.

It seems that this special and limited version of the M3 will arrive in the US in May of next year and there are no price indications yet, although prices are expected close to those of the BMW M4 CS. Like this one, the M3 CS is also expected not to arrive in Portugal, so delight in the images.
