After six seasons of competition and nearly 100 race victories, Lamborghini Squadra Corsa (competition division) has just celebrated the production of the 400 unit of the competition Huracán.
To mark the date, the Italian manufacturer organized a special event at its factory, in Sant’Agata Bolognese, which was attended by some of the main responsible of the manufacturer, such as the president and executive director of the transalpina brand, Stephan Winkelman.
The “boss” of Lamborghini — who also leads the way for Bugatti — was very satisfied with this achievement and revealed that “it is important not only for Squadra Corse, but for the entire company”.
Stephan Winkelman, President and CEO of LamborghiniIn just a few years, the Squadra Corse has asserted itself in the most important international competitions and the Huracán GT3 and the Super Trofeo are an undisputed reference point in the Gran Turismo category.
The “mandate” of the Huracán Super Trofeo began in 2014, when he was introduced as a replacement for Gallardo. A year later the Huracán GT3 arrived.
The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 — which in 2019 received the Evo evolution — had nearly 100 race victories, including three consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona and two victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
But the impressive numbers do not end here. In 2020 alone, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo entered 15 different championships, through the “hand” of 24 different teams. In total, it totaled approximately 20 000 km, with 88 drivers at the wheel.
