Volar-E: the most powerful electric car ever

Anonim

Little by little, electric cars are gaining ground in the automotive world and with this in mind, Applus Idiada's Spaniards created an electric supercar called the Volar-E.

We are well aware that the most "daring" cars powered exclusively by electricity are still not seen as a real option compared to traditional sports cars. For many, the mere fact that there is a strange absence of the delicious noise of gasoline engines is reason enough to look at these cars with a certain disapproval – it is the so-called man-machine connection, or in this case… the lack of it.

But thinking precisely of the most critical, Applus Idiada in partnership with Rimac Automobili (creators of the equally crazy Rimac Concept_One EV) decided to give life to a hyper zero-emission project that nobody will be indifferent to.

The Volar-E claims the status of the most powerful electric car ever, with «only» 1,000 hp of power and 1,000 Nm of maximum torque! Numbers that make it possible to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h. Even without a "cheep", this Volar-E promises to be an electric capable of awakening the most enthusiastic side of its drivers.

Regardless of the fantastic numbers presented, it is still something strange to see a four-wheel drive car and with immense instantaneous torque available take «so» time to complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. I say this because the Tesla Model S is less powerful (-590 hp) and is significantly heavier than the Volar-E and yet is capable of running the race from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds (only 1 more Mon.).

The Volar-E still suffers from a range problem, as do the vast majority of vehicles of this kind. This Spanish super sports car has energy for just 50 km of road and even with the use of four independent electric motors there is no strength to take us from Lisbon to Cartaxo. Just out of curiosity, the Tesla Model S is capable of traveling 480 km on a single charge, which is truly incredible.

The car is still in prototype form and there is still no confirmation whether it will go into production. But while we wait for news, I leave you with this thunderous video loaded with adrenaline and… «silence»:
