Cold Start. Did you already know the Chinese "clone" of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Anonim

Usually affected by sudden bouts of lack of originality, many Chinese brand designers often look to European models for “inspiration” when designing their cars.

From the Lamborghini Urus to the BMW Isetta through the BMW X4, several models have already been the target of “copies” by Chinese brands, one of them being the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

The “clone” goes by the name of the BAIC BJ80 and, with the exception of a grill that wins the eye of the Jeep world (or is it the Hummer?), it's not hard to find many of the proportions of the mythical German jeep in the much more modest BJ80.

From the square lines to the round headlights, passing through the door handles to the shape of the windows, the BJ80 doesn't hide where it got its inspiration. Interestingly, the BJ80 has a jeep of its name as its brother in the range… BJ40, yes, just like the Land Cruiser from Toyota!

Any similarities to the G-Class are perhaps not entirely coincidental.
