Skoda Vision X. Czech rival for Captur, Arona and Kauai on the way.

The Geneva Motor Show, in a month's time, takes on added importance for Skoda. Not only will we see a renovated Skoda Fabia, we'll also see the Skoda Vision X, the concept of a small urban crossover. The segment for which it is destined continues to be one of the “hottest” in the market, being one of the fastest growing — brands cannot afford not to be present.

evolution outside

For now, just revealed in a few renders, Skoda Vision X presents a new evolution of the face of Mladá Boleslav's brand, adopting a split optics solution. Both the Kodiaq and the Karoq already revealed going in this direction, but the Vision X shows a new interpretation of the theme, placing the mids/highs below the slender LED strip at the top that assumes the function of daytime running lights — a solution that we can also observe other proposals from various brands.

The rear also reveals a new interpretation of the C-shaped optics, which are now divided into two parts — only with the presentation of the concept, we will be able to understand whether the lower elements are optics or reflectors. The Skoda Vision X completes the set with a two-tone body, with the underside in Flexgreen and the roof (panoramic) and A-pillar in anthracite.

revolution from within

It is in the interior that we are witnessing a major revolution, with Skoda claiming that “it fundamentally defines a new design language”. The dashboard is dominated by an infotainment system at the centre, comprising a generously sized touchscreen with a horizontal layout.

Skoda Vision X — interior

A concept that is a concept must impress, and in addition to the 20″ wheels on the outside, the interior is marked by illuminated elements made of crystal glass that create ambient light effects. As has been the prerogative of the brand's concepts, it is to be expected that the Skoda Vision X will be a very realistic forecast of the production model — this will be related to the SEAT Arona and future Volkswagen T-Cross.

The Skoda Vision X is one of the vital elements of the Skoda Strategy 2025, the brand's strategic plan, which will invest heavily in expanding the range, with a special focus on SUV models. In addition, we'll also see plug-in hybrids and electric models coming to the brand — starting in 2025, one in four Skoda sold will be plug-in or electric hybrids.
