The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve received the new Golf GTI Clubsport, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Golf GTI.
Portugal was chosen to celebrate, in grand style, the 40th anniversary of the Golf GTI Clubsport.The “softer” version has 265 horsepower and a turbo 2.0 gasoline engine. For the most demanding, the overboost function is also available, which boosts the power of the Golf GTI to 290 horsepower. In an attempt to try to please “Greeks and Trojans”, Volkswagen offers the conventional six-speed manual gearbox and a dual-clutch DSG gearbox, also six-speed. With the latter, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is completed in 5.9 seconds, the top speed is at 250km/h. The manual gearbox lags 0.1 seconds at 0-100km/h, but maintains the same top speed (in both, electronically limited).

Official figures for the price of the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport are not yet known, but it is estimated that it will approach €35,000 in Germany. In Portugal, due to taxes, we won't be so lucky.
