For years, there has been talk of a hypothetical successor to Calibra, although the German manufacturer has not moved forward with the project. It is possible that at the next Geneva Motor Show there will be news in this regard – Opel plans to present a sports concept during the Swiss event. It is however unlikely that there will be component sharing between a future Calibra and the Buick Avista (although both brands belonged to GM).
The first generation Opel Calibra was marketed between 1989 and 1997, and sold 239,118 units worldwide.
