As a way to mark the debut of its plug-in hybrid models in the European market, Jeep decided to create a special launch version for the Renegade Jeep and Compass 4x , the “First Edition”.
This special version can be ordered until the end of April and is available in two configurations: “Urban”, which is based on the “S” equipment level, and “Off-road”, which is based on the Trailhawk equipment level.
Among the advantages of this special series are the warranty extension up to four years without limit of kilometers, the four years of maintenance, the eight years of battery warranty and even the offer of Wallbox for domestic charging and the specific cable for charging at public points.
In addition, the “Urban” configuration is presented with 19” wheels and the “Off-road” with 17” wheels, Full LED headlamps (on the Compass 4x they are Bi-Xenon), 8.4” central screen , 7” TFT screen (instrument panel) and systems such as the blind spot warning, rear camera or “Park Assist”.
The Jeep Renegade and Compass 4x
Both the Jeep Renegade 4xe and the Compass 4xe are the first plug-in hybrid models of the American brand on the European market, debuting the “Jeep 4xe” emblem that will identify all the brand's electrified models.

To liven up the Jeep Renegade and Compass 4x we find a Firefly 1.3 turbo petrol engine, which appears associated with an electric motor installed on the rear axle. In other words, it has four-wheel drive, with the combustion engine driving the front axle and the electric motor driving the rear axle.
The maximum combined power is 240 hp, which makes the Renegade 4xe and Compass 4xe the most powerful members of their respective ranges, capable of delivering 0 to 100 km/h in around 7s and reaching 200 km/h.
With three new driving modes — Hybrid, Full Electric and E-save — and specific features such as “Sport Mode”, “Eco Coaching” and “Smart Charging” (this allows the charging mode to be managed via the driver's smartphone), the Renegade and Compass 4xe have an electric range of up to 50 km and emit less than 60 g/km of CO2 in hybrid mode.
Finally, with regard to charging, a Wallbox with up to 3 kW of power takes 3h30min. By increasing the power to 7.4 kW, the charging time drops to 100 minutes.
With arrival at the Jeep stands scheduled for early summer, it is still unclear how much the new Jeep plug-in hybrids will cost.
