The new Volkswagen Golf will look like this

Until now, the only teasers of the eighth generation of the Golf released by Volkswagen only allowed to anticipate how the interior of the German bestseller will be and to glimpse its profile. However, that has changed, with Volkswagen unveiling a series of new sketches that allow it to get a clear idea of what the model will look like.

In total, the Wolfsburg brand has revealed four sketches, two for the interior and two for the exterior. As for the interior, we see confirmed what the first teaser told us: this one will be much more technological, with most of the buttons disappearing.

Still there, one of the biggest highlights is the apparent “fusion” of the infotainment system screens and the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel. In the other interior sketch, Volkswagen presents the evolution of the Golf's interiors over its eight generations.

As the first teaser showed, inside the new Golf (almost) there will be no buttons.

What changes abroad?

The sketches that show us how the exterior of the new Golf will be, in this case just the front, were the most anticipated and confirm what is already almost a rule at the heart of Volkswagen: to evolve without revolutionizing.

Unlike what happens abroad, the changes in the interior have always been more radical.

This means that, as we can see quite well in the sketch that shows the evolution of the Golf front end over the years, the eighth generation of the Volkswagen bestseller will present itself with a look that allows us to easily identify the model as being a… Golf.

Even so, the reduction in the height of the front optics, the appearance of a complete lower grille (instead of being divided into three sections as in the current generation) and the possibility that the Golf will have an illuminated grille stand out. (at least that's what one of the sketches anticipates).

“Evolution in continuity”. This seems to be Volkswagen's maxim when designing a new Golf.

What is already known?

Developed based on the MQB platform, the eighth generation of the Golf should bring with it a simplification of the range and a bet on electrification, based (above all) on mild-hybrid versions.

Also confirmed is the non-abandonment of Diesel engines and the disappearance of the electric version known as e-Golf (thanks to the recently presented ID.3). The presentation of this eighth generation is scheduled for the end of this month.
