At a time when, here, in the Car Ledger , we publish the test of the renewed Ford Mustang GT V8 Fastback, which passed through the hands of Francisco Mota, who is already an American icon, celebrates another very special brand: 10 million units produced.
Despite its 54 years of existence, more than half a century in which it was invariably the best-selling sports car in America, and only three officially in Europe, the Ford Mustang continues its successful journey, with no end date.
As for Mustang No. 10,000,000, it left the Flat Rock factory, in the US state of Michigan, in the form of a GT Convertible, equipped with a 466 hp V8 engine (in the US, 450 in Europe), gearbox manual speeds and “Wimbledon White” paint.
This is Mustang #10 million.
The 10 million Mustang replicates the color of the first Ford Mustang, with the VIN 001, and made known in 1964. Also sporting the inevitable V8 engine, then with 166 hp, and mated to a three-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, and also in the US, 60 owners of different versions of the Ford Mustang, produced over the years, gathered in a tribute to the “Mustang 10 Million”, drawing the number with their cars, in an action accompanied in the skies by a plane of fighter P-51 Mustang.

With ten million cars already sold in the American continent, Ford also sold, in just three years of Mustang presence in the Old Continent — it was officially launched in 2015 —, more than 38 thousand units in Europe.
