The presentation of the Ferrari 812 Superfast at the last Geneva Motor Show was one of the highlights of the Swiss event, or was it not the Italian brand's most powerful series model ever (Ferrari considers the LaFerrari a limited edition).

But more importantly, the sports car we got to see up close in Geneva may well be the last to resort to a “pure V12” – meaning no assistance whatsoever, whether from supercharging or electrification.

Assuming itself as a successor to the well-known Ferrari F12 – the platform is a revised and improved version of the F12 platform – the 812 Superfast uses a naturally aspirated 6.5 V12 block. The numbers are overwhelming: 800 hp at 8500 rpm and 718 Nm at 7,000 rpm, with 80% of that value available right at 3500 rpm.

Transmission is made exclusively to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Despite the extra 110 kg, the performance is equivalent to those of the F12tdf: 2.9 seconds from 0-100 km/h and a top speed in excess of 340 km/h.
