David Brown Automotive is no stranger to Reason Automotive. They made themselves known with the Speedback GT in 2014 — a reinterpretation of the Aston Martin DB5 based on a much more contemporary Jaguar XKR — and in 2017 they unveiled the Mini Remastered — a restomodding based on the original Mini.
The new David Brown Speedback Silverstone Edition stands out from the Speedback GT, above all, for extracting almost 100 hp more from the Supercharged V8 (609 hp), for a more aggressive appearance, and for an even more stratospheric price - approximately 700 thousand euros. It's the price of exclusivity: only 10 units will be produced.
And nothing says more about the handcrafted character of this car than the inscription on the doorstep “Handcrafted by David Brown Automotive in great britian ”—Great Britian? Shouldn't it be Great Britain? Mistakes do happen and luckily this one is innocuous and easily corrected, but how come no one noticed?
The front of the Speedback gets a new pair of optics integrated into the grille and the wheels are redesigned and help to give a more aggressive look.
