This is how Peugeot will celebrate its 210 years

210 years! It was on September 26, 1810 that the PEUGEOT Frères Aînés society was officially founded. In other words, long decades before we saw the first automobile (by Karl Benz in 1886), Peugeot already existed, making a little of everything, from steel wire for the skirt frames (crinolines) to bicycles (1882).

It didn't take long after the first car for Peugeot to venture out with one of its own. In 1889 the Peugeot Type 1, also known as the Serpollet Tricycle, was made known; a three-wheeled vehicle… and steam!

They quickly realized that the future was not in steam, but in gasoline, and in 1890 it made known the Type 2, already with four wheels. The rest, as they say… is history.

210 years. What will Peugeot do?

210 years is, without a doubt, cause for celebration. In addition to having designed a new logo — which evokes the oldest existing Peugeot logo (1858) — for the occasion, Peugeot is preparing a series of campaigns, events and meetings that will continue until the end of this year:

  • An international promotional operation with historic offers from August 24th;
  • An editorial plan dedicated to social media in September and October;
  • Two digital events on the 24th and 26th of September;
  • Tickets at €1.00 for all visitors to the Musée de l'Aventure PEUGEOT in Sochaux between September 1st and October 31st;
  • Lifestyle PEUGEOT products dedicated to brand fans, marketed from the end of September.

In this commemorative period, the highlight was the screening on social networks, on the 26th of September, of a film dedicated to the brand's history.

Peugeot also invites the public, between the 1st and 26th of September, to choose the most emblematic Peugeot ever. Matthias Hossann, design director at Peugeot, and the rest of the brand's design teams will reveal a surprise in October, based on the results of that election.

Highlight also for the aforementioned digital events. The first, on September 24, will be reserved for the press and the brand's dealer network. The second, on September 26, will be aimed at social networks: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Finally, on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of October, the 2020 edition of the “International Aventure Peugeot Meeting (IAPM)” will also be highlighted, which will be held in Sochaux. This event is reserved for members of “Aventure PEUGEOT” and is a 300 km long rally through the Doubs region, which will bring together 130 teams. It will be an opportunity to see (practically) all models of the French brand, from the 201 to the RCZ.
