As of June and for the next three years, Iveco becomes the official supplier of heavy vehicles for the logistics of Abarth's competition division, providing two trucks: the Stralis XP , destined for the “Abarth Selenia Trophy”, and the Eurocharge , model that won the “2016 International Truck of the Year” trophy for the “Abarth 124 Rally Selenia” program.
To celebrate this partnership between two Italian brands – a collaboration that has its roots in the past, as Iveco has supported Abarth in different competitions since the early 1980s – Iveco is preparing to produce a special edition of the new Stralis XP TCO2 Champion.
No, we won't see a truck poisoned by the scorpion brand (unfortunately). The 124 units of this special edition of the Iveco Stralis will pay homage to the Abarth 124 Spider, receiving typical Abarth exclusive decoration and details.
This limited edition is inspired by the new Stralis XP Abarth “Emotional Truck” (in the images), whose decoration was designed and developed by the Abarth Design Center. Inside, the model uses true Abarth style, whether in the upholstery, steering wheel or leather door panels. This unit will be present on all circuits of the 2017 FIA European Truck Championship, in the Iveco paddock.
All of them will be decorated in white and finished in red and grey, the team's traditional colors. The unit number “Zero” of this limited edition will also be used by Abarth as a logistical support truck during races in which the brand is involved.
The “Emotional Truck” also celebrates the success of the new Stralis XP. This model has an improved transmission system, a new gearbox, a completely redesigned engine and HI-SCR technology that is now associated with the predictive functions of the GPS system.
