Honda announces new lawnmower... with 190 horsepower

Anonim

It was still in 2014 that Honda presented the “Mean Mower”, or “Corta-Relva Malvado”. A lawnmower that, equipped with the engine of a Honda VTR Super Hawk producing 109 hp, set a new world speed record for this type of vehicle, reaching 187.61 km/h!

Remember that it would be obliterated by a group of Norwegians who, a year later, reached 215 km/h, thanks to a lawnmower with a… Chevrolet V8 — lunatics.

After about four years, Honda returns to the charge, to recover its record, with an “improved” version of the “Mean Mower” — this time, equipped with the engine of a CBR 1000RR Fireblade . For those who don't know which engine comes on the Fireblade, this one only has 1000 cm3, 192 hp at an incredible 13 000 rpm and 114 Nm at… 11 000 rpm.

Performances? Honda estimates that it can reach 100 km/h in less than 3.0 s. This is possible because the six-speed gearbox comes with an extra long first gear, capable of reaching something like 140 km/h. Honda and Team Dynamics hope to achieve a dry weight of just 200 kg.

As for the objective, it is the same: to be the fastest lawnmower ever . This time, not a journalist at the wheel, but a young racing star, Jessica Hawkins.

However, see here, too, the record set by the original “Mean Mower”.
