Honda Civic Type R. Confrontation of generations: from the 8000 rpm of the EP3 to the 320 hp turbo of the FK8

The British at Carwow gave us a video that managed to bring together all the generations of the Honda Civic Type R. Well, almost all of them — the first one, the EK9 is not present, it is also the least common, having been sold only in the Japanese market, therefore right-hand drive.

All the others are present: the 2001 EP3 the 2006 FN2 the 2015 FK2 and the FK8 released last year. We can also see an intruder — it's a Civic Type R FN2, mentioned earlier, but it's not just any FN2. This is the Mugen version, which unleashed the full potential of the FN2, capable of extracting 240 hp (40 more than the regular one) from the blaring 2.0 liters, at 8300 rpm — epic! — without counting several improvements, in the aerodynamic and dynamic field.

The video makes several comparative tests between generations, which include acceleration and braking, as well as a more subjective test, in which Mat Watson chooses the Honda Civic Type R more fun to drive.

While in acceleration tests, naturally, the horses speak louder — the EP3 delivers 200 hp, the FK8, 320 hp — with braking there's a surprise and the most fun to drive may not be what you've been expecting. A video not to be missed…
