The manual transmission (finally) arrives on the new Porsche 911

The announcement came from the US Porsche, which announced the manual cashbox introduction on the Porsche 911 Carrera S and Porsche 911 Carrera 4S (coupé and convertible) for the 2020 models for your market.

Until now, the 992 generation Porsche 911 was only available with the PDK, the excellent eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, but good as it is, still nothing beats a good manual gearbox for greater interaction with the sporty — and in the Porsche, do not usually disappoint in this chapter.

The manual gearbox that we'll see in the 911 is seven-speed — as was the case in the predecessor 991 — and, in the case of North American models, comes as standard with the Sport Chrono package, which includes an automatic heel tip; and comes with a standard mechanical locking differential.

Choosing the manual transmission also guarantees 38 kg less (according to North American specifications) to the 911.
