The first of the latest Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is now on sale in the US.

23 years and 10 generations later, the Japanese brand decided to end production of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution last year, marking the end of a lineage that has certainly marked many four-wheel enthusiasts. To celebrate the sport's more than two decades of history, Mitsubishi has launched the Final Edition limited series, one of which is now on sale at the brand's dealership in Brooklyn, USA.

And it's not just any model. It is the first (#001) of the 1600 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition to leave the brand's production lines, making it even more special. This version originally intended for the Japanese market was equipped with Bilstein suspensions, Eibach springs, Recaro seats, Brembo discs and some precious tweaks in the engine, which make the four-cylinder 2.0 Turbo MIVEC unit reach 307 hp of power and 414 Nm of torque maximum.

The sports car was originally purchased by Brooklyn Mitsubishi directly from the brand for $46,200 in an auction that served to help a non-governmental organization supporting multiple sclerosis patients. Now, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition is on sale for $88,888, about 80,000 euros. Bearing in mind that there won't be any direct replacement for the Evo – some rumors suggested the production of a plug-in hybrid SUV – we would say that it is to be taken advantage of.
