BMW iX xDrive50 (523 hp). BMW's Largest 100% Electric SUV

Anonim

Following the lead of Audi and Mercedes-Benz, BMW decided it was time to launch a brand new electric SUV (the iX3 is directly derived from the X3) and the result was the BMW iX , the latest protagonist of our YouTube channel.

For this first contact with the largest 100% electric SUV of the Bavarian brand, Diogo Teixeira traveled to Germany and immediately tested it in its most powerful version, the iX xDrive50.

Developed on the basis of a new platform (which it debuted), in this xDrive50 version the iX offers a total of 385 kW (523 hp) and 765 Nm extracted from two engines, one at the front with 200 kW (272 hp) and 352 Nm and another one at the back with 250 kW (340 hp) and 400 Nm, numbers that allow to fulfill 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6s and reach 200 km/h of maximum speed (limited).

Quick to boot and load

In this top-end version (at least until the arrival of the iX xDrive M60), the BMW iX presents itself with a battery with 105 kWh of useful capacity that can be recharged up to 200 kW, managing, in an ultra-fast charger, to restore 80% of the battery between 31 and 35 minutes.

On an 11 kW Wallbox, recharge takes between 8 to 11 hours. All this is even more important when we take into account that, as Diogo tells us throughout the video, consumption is not iX's strong point. In this first contact, the average was always close to 25 kWh/100 km, which is why reaching the 630 km of autonomy announced seems to be difficult.

With arrival in Portugal scheduled for 2022, the iX should see its price start at 89,150 euros requested by the iX xDrive40 version, and this iX xDrive50 will start at 107,000 euros.
