Scheduled for its debut in mid-September, the expectation around the new BMW M3 and M4 doesn't stop growing.
Aware of this, BMW decided to sharpen the curiosity of its fans a little more and released a series of official “spy photos” where we can see the exterior and interior of the two models still camouflaged.
However, more interesting than the images now released (in which we even see the new BMW M3 and M4 on track), were the technical data revealed by the German brand.
Power will not be lacking
As with the current generation, the new BMW M3 and M4 will be available in two power levels.

In the base version, the six-cylinder in-line with 3.0 l twin-turbo that will equip them delivers 480 hp and is associated with a manual gearbox with six ratios.
In the Competition variant, the power rises to 510 hp and the engine is now associated with the M Steptronic eight-speed automatic transmission. As for torque, BMW only reveals that it will go up to 650 Nm.
According to Dirk Häcker, director of development at M Automobiles and BMW Individual, initially the Competition versions will have rear-wheel drive, and later the adoption of the M xDrive all-wheel drive system is planned.
Compared to their predecessors, the new BMW M3 and M4 thus now boast an additional 49 hp (in the base version) and 60 hp (in the Competition variant).
M3 sedan… is almost.
As you would expect, the new BMW M3 and M4 will feature an M-division-specific suspension setup and, according to BMW, with “comprehensive innovations in the areas of traction, springs, shock absorbers and brakes”.
Now all that remains is to hope that BMW will reveal some more data about the most recent members of the “M family”.
