Indirectly, the Ford Castrol Cross Country Team answered the prayers of all these fans. Like? Simple. When preparing the new version of the Ford Ranger Raptor for competition, the team decided that the best engine they could turn to was the F-150 Raptor.
In other words, under the bonnet there is a 3.5 EcoBoost V6 with 450 hp and 691 Nm of torque . However, the changes that this Ranger Raptor has undergone go far beyond the engine, and in the next few lines you'll get to know them.
What has changed in this Ranger Raptor?
For starters, the Ford Ranger Raptor competition doesn't use the chassis of the production version that Guilherme put to the test. Instead, it rests on a base made from scratch that allowed the motor to be positioned backwards, placing it in a central position.

As for suspensions, Ranger Raptor has an independent four-wheel suspension (the production version has a rigid rear axle at the rear). With two BOS shock absorbers per wheel, Ranger Raptor has a suspension travel of about 28 cm.
Finally, the braking system features six-piston calipers at the front and rear (here the calipers are water-cooled). According to the Ford Castrol Cross Country Team, the plan is to have three of these Ford Ranger Raptor in competition mid-year.
