Jozef Kabaň will assume the role of design director at BMW, under the direction of Adrian van Hooydonk, head of design for the entire group.

The position of design director at BMW was recently available following the departure of Karim Habib. Jozef Kabaň, a 44-year-old Slovak designer, has until now taken on the role of exterior design director at Skoda. Responsible for Kodiak's design and also Octavia's controversial facelift, his career spans two decades.

His career started at Volkswagen, and the Bugatti Veyron's exterior design is certainly his best-known work. In 2003, he moved to Audi, being promoted to exterior design director for the Ingolstadt brand in 2007. Still within the VW Group, he moved a year later to Skoda taking on the role of exterior design director.
