Today, the National Republican Guard will intensify throughout the national territory the inspection of the use of seat belts and child restraint systems, as well as the improper use of cell phones.
The inspection actions, carried out by soldiers from the Territorial Commands and the National Transit Unit, will be directed to roads located inside localities, national, regional and municipal roads, where infringements relating to these matters are more frequent.SEE ALSO: PSP radar list for this week
Since the beginning of 2015 and until the 12th of September, there were more than 22 thousand infractions due to the misuse of a mobile phone while driving, more than 24 thousand infractions due to incorrect or non-use of seat belts and about 1,700 offenses for incorrect or non-use of child restraint systems.
In view of these numbers, the GNR will carry out this year several preventive operations, with the aim of alerting drivers to the risks associated with these infractions. For you and for others, the best thing is to prevent it.
