The second life of the Pagani Zonda 760 Ghost

Anonim

We all know (especially those with cats) that these little cats have seven lives. Now, the question that arises here is: how many lives can the Pagani Zonda have? The answer is: those that the money allows and the owners want. There are countless special versions released of this model, all of them with an extremely reduced production.

However, Pagani refuses to “kill” Zonda once and for all. Proof of this is the new special version, limited to just one copy, called the Pagani Zonda 760 Phantom. Which actually isn't the birth of a new model, but a rebirth. Produced in 2005 as the first Zonda F with a right-hand drive – chassis nº 53 – and delivered to Peter Saywell, this example was later sold by the owner, who exchanged it for a much more exuberant, Pagani Zonda PS.

The Pagani Zonda F was then purchased by a man in Hong Kong, who added a new orange paint job and black wheels. However, in 2012, this “poor” Pagani Zonda F would suffer a serious accident, in which little was left of the Italian supercar….The owner survived.

Two years after the accident, the Pagani Zonda F was duly restored by the brand itself. The same owner who had the accident, not only converted it into a Pagani Zonda 760, but also “baptized” it with a name that perfectly represents its dramatic past: Pagani Zonda 760 Phantom. The Pagani Zonda 760 Fantasma, like the other 760 versions, has a carbitanium chassis, several improvements in terms of exterior appearance and the same 760 hp AMG V12 7.3 engine, coupled to a sequential gearbox. Also noteworthy is the magnificent combination of red exterior paint with beautiful alloy wheels and aerodynamic carbon fiber appendages. In addition to their external exuberance and recognized technical credentials, the Pagani still seem to have a relatively rare quality in the world of super sports: reliability (see here).
