Based on the Skoda Rapid Spaceback, the new concept car was developed by 26 students from the Skoda Academy, in a project that started at the end of last year. During 1700 hours of work, students at the Skoda Vocational School in Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic) had the help of the production, design and development departments of the brand, to produce a model with an eye on the future and 100% functional.

In terms of aesthetics, the Skoda Atero features a redesigned coupe-style body with reddish contours. The compact two-door model also underwent significant changes to the chassis and received 18-inch wheels from the Skoda Octavia.

Under the bonnet we find a 1.4 liter TSI block with 125 hp of power transmitted to the wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission (DSG). The dynamic, sporty ambience is carried into the interior in the form of a 14-speaker sound system with a total of 1800 watts and LED position lights.

This is the third model developed by Skoda Academy students, after the CitiJet (convertible introduced in 2014) and Funstar (pickup unveiled in 2015). “Like its predecessors, the Skoda Atero highlights the high level of knowledge and skills of our students,” said Bohdan Wojnar, a member of Skoda's human resources division.
