with a time of 7min29.81s, the new Porsche Panamera Turbo S has become the fastest executive saloon at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, dethroning the 7min30,109s of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Coupé 4 Doors, achieved in 2018.
It should be clarified that, at the time, a time of 7min25.41s was announced for the portentous Affalterbach saloon, but that time is that of the “short” version (20.6 km) of the German circuit. Now, the times considered are those of the “long” version (20.832 km), that is, the chronometer only stops when the car passes again over the starting line.
Even using the time of the “short” version as a comparison, the Panamera Turbo S continues to be faster, having done it in 7min25.04s, almost four tenths of a second less than the 4-door Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S.
Well… Mercedes-AMG didn't let the boldness of Porsche pass by and responded.

He republished the video where we can review the GT 63 S making the lap that gave him the record at the Nürburgring in 2018, but with the following description:
“Almost two years ago, an AMG development engineer conducted a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé 4 Doors on the Nürburgring in adverse conditions for an electrifying time of 7min30.109s on the Nordschleife. Our record was best in class and just 0.3s from a recent record you may have heard . Maybe it's the right time to hit the circuit again…”
Auch… It seems to us that Mercedes-AMG wants its record back. With so little time to separate the two saloons, very similar in “firepower” — both have 4.0 twin-turbo V8 engines, with 630 hp for the Panamera Turbo S and 639 hp for the GT 63 S — with better Weather conditions the chances of the AMG saloon regaining its record seem to be in its favour.
